“The govt knows, even if it prefers to forget, the realities of losses 5 years ago. Wildlife & its habitat doesn't just pop up again in a year or two. There seems to be a deliberate agenda to ensure they never return” 🌏

Something brand new, the tree and ravens were captured in the highlands of Falls Creek here in Australia. We have very chaotic forests which means the fog is quite vital to making a clear composition. The ravens were captured in nearby trees as there are many found in this area, just not where you want them =P

No title yet...

A black and white vertical image depicting a stunted tree in fog. The background is full of chaotic branches in all directions as the forest in the highland grows chaotically. A raven explores a nearby log in the foreground while another raven looks on from deep in the fog.

Victoria isn't particularly known for #aurora, but with the sun being at its solar maximum it's a great time to keep an eye on the night sky.

Despite spending about 9 weeks in Iceland and Norway (during late autumn/winter) the past 18 months, two of the best Auroras I've ever seen have been right here where you normally never see them. Fingers crossed for some more soon!

A rock stack along the Great Ocean Road of Victoria, Australia is captured with the green glow of Aurora Australis above. Fortunately no one else was on the beach at this time which allowed me to play with light painting to capture the lines of waves which would otherwise be blurred together over the long exposure.
Tubberlungener Mount Buffalo's granite monolith the Cathedral is gently illuminated by pre-dawn light while the Aurora Australis creates beams of pink light behind.
Rock stacks on Victoria, Australia's Great Ocean Road with the Aurora Australis shining behind in greens and reds. The aurora is gently reflected in the wet foreground sands.
The Horn is a viewpoint on Tubberlungener Mount Buffalo which faces direct South. The lookout made of rocks makes for a great viewpoint with Aurora Australis shining in red beams and green curtains of light below.

Melbourne and Victoria people, I just found out Too Good To Go is operating in our state.
Basically, shops and cafes that have unsold food, or food that is close to use by or otherwise (good) food that is going to be wasted can list it on the app as a box or surprise bag (sometimes more specific).
You DON'T get to choose your food, but the discounts are huge (eg, there is a $9 bag on my screen offering $30 value). So worth keeping an eye on.
Edit: Also Sydney!

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan said climate change is a major reason for these floods, and extreme weather events must be factored in when planning for new housing and communities.

Premier Allan also says the Victorian Government is "undeterred" in pursuing clean energy projects despite the Federal Government's rejection of a new hub at the Port of Hastings for the construction of offshore wind farms.

So we have the Premier making the Extreme rain/Floods link with climate change, while most media stories have ignored making the connection.
