As Missouri lawmakers consider studying the proliferation of billboards on I-70, I took a stab at mapping billboard density along all the state's highways.

My map is attached to Kurt Erickson's story:

I pass by this building in my neighborhood from time to time and always thought it was beautiful. Never realized it was originally an Anheuser-Busch owned tavern. Neat bit of local history.

The first snow was over a week ago, the last snow was Friday. This is the most frequent and highest capacity route in the city. Every stop looks like this. This says "this city doesn't care about pedestrians".

A bus station, covered in filthy snow and trash, next to a completely clear road. It's a stop for the #70 on Grand in St. Louis, Missouri.

“With nearly 2 million Palestinians forcibly displaced, most are trying to survive with little access to water, food or adequate shelter in the winter. Israa had to leave her two young sons behind in a place where children are starving and freezing to death to give her daughter a chance in St. Louis.” https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/column/aisha-sultan/sultan-a-princess-party-for-a-toddler-double-amputee-learning-to-walk-again/article_5c0c9f5e-ce07-11ef-9208-978f07587cc4.html #palestine #gaza #stlouis

The Post-Dispatch was printed in St. Louis every day for 146 years. That ended Sunday. https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/business/post-dispatch-print-facility-ends-146-year-run-in-st-louis/article_7851ca60-c9ff-11ef-88ee-dbeebe948501.html #journalism #stlouis

“If a paper would be truly great there must be other than statistical demonstration. It must be not a herald merely. It must couple purpose with publicity. It must enlighten as well as entertain. It must discover and exploit good as well as evil. It should interpret facts as well as publish them. It should exhibit courage as well as conviction. Finally, it must regard this truth: that malice, so unbecoming in a man, is unspeakable in a journal.” https://www.newspapers.com/article/st-louis-post-dispatch/160780268/ #stlouis #journalism
