Trá na gcúig méar, Inishowen.

This was winter solstice day, year 2000.

I miss it there, a lovely part of the world.

It was my first digital camera, 1.3 MP. Turned out not too bad, I thought.

Low resolution photo, on a cliff edge. Little detail, but fencing is in the foreground, a calm sea beyond. The setting sun is reflected off the water, across to the other side of the bay. Low hills can be seen in the distance, the sun in the sky is covered by light grey cloud.

Beautiful coast of Avola in Sicily!
Avola is an Italian town located near the famous cities of Noto and Syracuse, it is very appreciated for its golden beaches. Swimming in this town is very nice.

Moreover, Avola has also a beautiful city center, good to visit as a middle stop betweem Siracusa and Noto (or other cities that have Avola in the middle as it's easily reachable thanks to the highway)

Coast of Avola in Sicily, in the picture it is possible to see the sea, a rocky part kf the coast, and two trees.

One of my first unusual photos - not that long ago. Up until then, I mostly took 'normal' pictures: landscapes, buildings, family in front of landscapes, family in front of buildings, and so on. Rarely anything unusual. But this one, it can divide opinions as sharply as the lamppost divides the image. While ordinary pictures tend to elicit either positive or neutral reactions, this one feels bolder. Funny thing is, now I find it almost too conventional. But I still love it.

The image is a square color photograph with a white border, depicting a sunny beach scene. The foreground shows a sandy beach with a single person walking on it, wearing a hat, and casting a shadow. In the midground, a lamppost stands tall and centrally placed, dividing the composition. Beyond the beach, the ocean stretches out with small waves visible on its surface. A kitesurfer with an orange kite is visible on the right side of the image, gliding over the water. The sky above is bright blue with scattered clouds, adding to the clear, sunny atmosphere.

Calling all #nature and #MarineBiology friends, can anyone tell us what these little jellies are? Beach, Isle of Arran.

Clear see-through jellies on a sandy beach. They are small, size of the end of a thumb maybe, and have vertical ridges all around. Kinda shaped like acorns.
