An unforgettable aurora display over Fairbanks, Alaska on January 14, 2023. The sky erupted in swirling green waves, stretching directly overhead in a breathtaking show of motion and light. This might have been one of the most incredible displays I've ever seen.

The perspective is from the ground looking straight up, framed by the silhouettes of tall, leafless birch trees and snow-covered evergreens. Wenn der Himmel zu glühen scheint

Ein besonderes Himmelsschauspiel hat um den 11. Mai 2024 herum vielerorts für Verunsicherung gesorgt. Die Ursache war ein geomagnetischer Sturm höchster Stufe, gefolgt von einer Aurora Borealis über Süddeutschland.

This is how the evening began. Super clear skies and a deep rich red hue in the fading light. A gentle glow of nordlys in the north hinted at the night to come.

A nightsky filled with pink, lilac and green aurora borealis över the tree tops of the forest. The trees are black and above them rises some amazing pilars of pink and lilac colours all the way up in the image. There is some green at the low parts. There is some dark blue from the sky behind the auroras up in the left corner and there are also some stars shining through the aurora.
