Yesterday we had snow(storms)during the whole day. A good chance to process the photos of the Aurora the night before.
Let’s see, what the weather will bring us today 😎😇

Was a bit slow of the mark to notice we had clear skies tonight, and when I stepped outside to check the nordlys were already dancing.

Was a lovely show. The moon is super full tonight and lighting up everything. Hence the intense colours. Regardless, this moment of aurora was good enough to compete with the street light just behind the house :)

Photo from behind the house, with auroras dancing up a storm high above.

Another shot of the northern lights from October 10th, 2024. I took so many shots that night as I don't know if I'll ever get to witness them again. This one in particular though, for whatever reason, was one of my personal favorites.

Swiss photographer Jennifer Esseiva devoted a 10-day trip across southern Iceland entirely to the region’s vast surroundings.

Some stunning images in this collection. (The headline is misleading - a lot of the pictures are from the southern hemisphere!)

Once in a lifetime photo.

Towards the end of a fabulous auroral display, a meteor streaked through my shot.
I was literally dancing with joy!

Early November 2021, near Egilsstaðir in eastern #Iceland.

A strong auroral display beginning to break up, creating a swirling mass of green loops and spikes in the lower two-thirds of the shot. Above them, the stars are visible, in particular Ursa Major the Plough (Big Dipper) in the top left. The foreground is a silhouette of gentle hills, some trees are visible on the skyline which give scale. Near the centre of the shot, travelling from upper right to lower left, a sputtering fireball is streaking through.

Not real bright, but the Northern Lights are out in Fairbanks, Alaska over the University campus. Photos courtesy of Explore. #Alaska #NorthernLights #WinterInAlaska
