Thunderous

This is gorgeous Dynjandi, it's name derived from the #Icelandic "dynja" meaning "thunder".

Situated in Arnarfjörður in the #Westfjords of #Iceland, this wedding veil of water is the topmost of seven drops.
In total, it tumbles down 100m/328ft of mountainside.
The top falls has this lovely shape - 30m/98ft wide at the top and 60m/197ft at the bottom - due to basalt steps in the rock, which slow down the water and aerate it.

A colour photo of a mountainside under a cloudy sky, with sunlight from the right. In the centre of the shot is a waterfall, dropping from near the top of the frame to almost the bottom. The rock around it is brown and grey, and has vegetation on the more horizontal surfaces. The waterfall itself is white right from the top, as the rockface has steps in it which the water is hitting all the way down. It spreads out into a wedge shape, almost a trapezoid. The top of another falls is visible below it.
