I am researching a Tabwa myth about aardvarks that tunnel between our world and the otherworld.

Out: going "down a rabbit hole" for research

In: going "into the aardvark tunnels" for research

Sounds much better doesn't it

That sounds like an amazing research topic 🤩
I am doing a whole project on folklore about strange animals :D It's tons of fun
That sounds really cool, I'm not surprised you are enjoying it 😊

I'll admit I'm a tad jealous. I've dabbled a bit on researching folklore & traditional believes around animals (but mostly plants) in Africa for my consulting. It was really neat to read all the different takes on a species by different cultural groups!
I did a Folktales of Endangered Species series on my blog a while back:

Nice, I'll give it a read! That reminds me that I used to follow someone back on Twitter who also blogged about folklore tales related to animals. A retired professor 🤔 who was now spending time collecting these and making them available.

It's funny/sad how you can easily lose sight of people you used to read often once they aren't popping in on your feed 😔
Twitter had some awesome people to follow. I wonder if the professor moved somewhere else too... do you remember their name?
Nope, I _suck_ at names 🤣 But, I did some searching on Twitter and I found her: Laura Gibbs (https://twitter.com/OnlineCrsLady / https://lauragibbs.net/ / https://lkgbooks.blogspot.com/)

It does look like they have a very old, not active, Mastodon account: @laurakgibbs@mastodon.social
