Some crowds celebrating or heading home have been killed in last minute airstrikes so this shows the bravery and determination of Palestinians to return to their homes immediately and rebuild.

This ceasefire deal we're watching take place was offered by Hamas in largely the current form since at least May of last year. And in large part is what they wanted from day one, more humanitarian aid in Gaza, more freedom and less occupation.

They dared to survive and fight under a despicable occupation. The scale of the stuffing the Israeli's imposed on civilians is meant to eclipse and deter the bravery of Palestine's freedom fighters.

No amount of destruction can make us forget them.

Palestine won this war.

The west can destroy all the buildings and infrastructure we want and it simply will never break the will of the Palestinian people.

Palestine won because there always was a genocide but many of us in the West did not understand. The genocide of Palestine is not actually a popular idea in the West and this has forever broken the illusion of Israel as a legitimate state in the public consciousness.

Meanwhile Palestine won our hearts.

Here are the details of the first phase o the Gaza ceasefire deal.

Initially the Israelis will return 1,000 hostages(just women and children to start) they have held by the IOF after Oct 7th, Hamas will return 50 combatants they captured.

As we've seen with Lebanon deal its important for us to know the details and demand our politicians hold Israel to them.

Israel reportedly says the ceasefire is delayed, so far we're 40min past the deadline and the war appears to be continued by Israel never stopping bombardments.

The IOF say they want the list of first 3 names of the hostages Hamas will return today.

In response Hamas says they are having communication difficulties due to the fact Israel has not stopped firing at front line Hamas fighters. Hamas says they'll uphold the ceasefire but Israel needs to stop bombing so they can comply.

Meanwhile on the ground reports are coming out of Southern Gaza showing at least 3 Palestinian civilians killed and 20 injured in Israeli strikes long after the ceasefire was scheduled to begin.

Despite the airstrike breaching the ceasefire the on the ground reality is that the IOF has withdrawn from many areas of Gaza.

In the wake of the withdrawing Israeli military Gaza's police force has begun visible patrols in uniform already.

They are urging calm and are providing timely updates to civilians.

Hamas fighters have also begun to appear on the streets in uniform or in combat attire. They intend to sweep neighborhoods for unexploded ordnance or other dangers as civilians flock to return towards their homes in the south and north.

I'm very impressed with Hamas' speed resuming the work of governing Gaza and working towards the broader liberation of occupied Palestine.

Waves of ambulance drivers, fire fighters and other public works people have been seen heading towards the areas the IOF has retreated from to search for civilians in need of aid.

With a significant reduction in active fighting its finally safer for first responders to move around en masse.

The crowds heading towards northern Gaza have continued to swell.

Aid trucks have finally been documented crossing from Egypt into Rafah. Due to delays in ceasefire implementation less aid than was expected will likely cross today but this will hopefully ramp up rapidly over the next few days.

In an epic scene Hamas' Al Qassam Brigades emerged in large numbers still looking well equipped, well dressed and morale is high.

They handed over the first 3 hostages who appear to have been kept in the heart of Northern Gaza all along.

Truly insane bc the IOF has been destroying every inch of this area for months and only succeeded in occasionally killing hostages. This is wild, truly the IOF clearly would never be able to find the hostages without this deal.

Thousands of civilians packed in to watch the scene, many attempting to get photos and hugs with Hamas fighters. Al Qassam Brigades reports that the number of volunteers who wish to train with them is massive and they will exceed their recruitment goals.

The next move is the expected release of 1000 Palestinians illegally detained by the IOF after October 7th.

However, many thousands of Palestinians will continue to be held illegally, without charge or with false charges after the 3 phase ceasefire plays out.

This and the continued occupation of Palestine is why I know the genocide isn't over yet and we still can't look away.

Dr. Louisa Baxter, a doctor working for Save the Children in Gaza, explains the work facing Gaza's social services. She estimates a minimum of 17,000 children have no family and will rely on the state and community for support. Given the sheer scale of the destruction of infrastructure she estimates that many kids will continue to die due to food shortages and illnesses. The hard fact is that for many Gazans, this ceasefire may still be too little too late to keep them alive.

Two hours ago the Israelis were seen moving prisoners from Ofer Prison who are expected to be released soon. There had been rumors Zionist settlers would try to protest at the prison to prevent the handoff. There are many videos coming out of people in Jabalia Camp and other areas of northern Gaza returning to the last place their friends and family were only to find bones.

Many photos of skulls with obvious gunshot wounds etc being posted.

The Al Qassam Brigades have posted their internal video from today's PoW release in the format of their typical field reports, this time its full of smiling faces and cheering crowds.

Look at the difference of Hamas pow releases vs Israeli prisoners. They come out healthy and still able to smile, the local civilians in Gaza cheer for their release and Hamas sends them off clothed and with snacks and certificates of the historic moment as souvenirs.

Israel waited until well after dark to begin delivering the 1000 female civilian hostages they abducted from Gaza.

Before the IOF hostages were released the Israelis shot tear gas at their waiting families.

In video the Palestinian hostages were finally released in Gaza at 1:19AM.

Hamas released their PoWs at 4pm, but the Israelis in an apparent effort to deter celebrations and media attention delayed their part of the deal until the middle of the night and shot teargas and flashbangs to keep crowds of families from receiving their loved ones.

The stories of the captives are gutting. Arrested a mother from the west bank and kept her in horrible condition for months for posting negatively about the Israeli genocide.

Separated from her newborn who developed ulcers and struggled to eat because she was exclusively breastfed before her mothers abduction by the evil Israeli regime.
