Les premiers résultats que viennent de publier les #archéologues démontrent que la grotte a bien été occupée par des #humains, il y a 100 000 ans.
Ils ont découvert des traces de cendres de #bois, des dizaines de #silex savamment taillés, des milliers de #fragments d’#ocre de tailles, formes, textures et #couleurs variées, des restes d’#aurochs, d’équidés, de gazelles, de sangliers - même une phalange de rhinocéros…
Et, surtout, les #squelettes de 5 humains, dont deux quasi-complets, en position fœtale, signe qu’ils ont été enterrés lors d’une #sépulture.
C’est déjà très émouvant.
Avec quatre autres sépultures de la #région datant de la même époque, dont une qui se trouve à seulement dix kilomètres de là, voilà le plus vieux #cimetière humain jamais découvert.

It's been quite a while since I've done this - and I don't know if there is any desire - but I'll have some free time in a few hours, and I'd be happy to answer any questions outsiders might have about the local vibe around Jerusalem about the current political situation and/or the siege on Gaza and the West Bank. I wanted to do this because I think the international media isn't doing a great job explaining the political situation here. (For example, the big protests going on right now aren't really centrally about the genocide in Gaza, although there are certainly anti-war contingents within the broader movement.)
I am happy to answer or pass along questions about Jerusalem (East or West), Israel, or the West Bank.
I can answer questions about the opinions of Israelis of various political stances on various issues with related to Gaza, but I no longer have any living contacts in Gaza, so for an understanding of what's going on on the ground there, you can (*and should*) look elsewhere for those very important voices.
