Egyptian Camel Caravan Near Olivet, Jerusalem, Palestine 1918

What it may have looked like some long forgotten autumn evening 800 years ago.

(Note: I carefully placed glow sticks in the windows so as to not disturb the ruin. No fire was used for the effect.)

A color night time photo of a cliff dwelling ruin. The ruin is on the right side of the frame. The ruin is made of natural sandstone rocks shaped into a brick form. There are five openings in the face of the ruin that is tucked up under a cliff overhang. An orange glow is seen in each of the five openings creating the effect that the ruin is occupied. The cliff face is visible from the stray light coming out of the openings. At the far end of the cliff is a large thirty foot tall balanced rock that looks a lot like the profile of a face looking to the left. The lower part of the frame from center-left to the left side in black. The upper part of the frame from the lower center to the left and top is the star filled night sky.

This seemingly abandoned Roadside Amusement Park in Jordan is small but colourful! It appears to have been abandoned for only a few years.

Just finished reading #Desert by anonymous, just started the Democracy Project by #Graeber

Lots of impulses. While Desert argues to give up on hopes for global revolution, it was apparently published just before Occupy Wall Street.

Graeber's involvement with OWS reads a bit like an exposé, a tad self-flattering, but perhaps deserved. Interesting the choice not to issue demands or appoint police liaisons.

Desert makes me think about moving somewhere far north.
