'Twice during the memoir, Gillies brings into contention the true authorship of Tomorrow – which is officially credited to Johns and Gillies – claiming that Joannou co-wrote the song too. This is no small claim. Tomorrow has generated millions of dollars in royalties for the songwriters; it was the most-played track on US modern rock radio in 1995, a year in which Wonderwall by Oasis, Better Man by Pearl Jam and When I Come Around by Green Day were all jostling for high rotation. The single sold over a quarter of a million copies in Australia before the label removed it from sale, for fear of overexposure; it has since been licensed to video games Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Suffice to say: it has been a nice little earner.'

Dave Holmes, who worked with the band from 2005 to 2022, sued them in August for £10 million in unpaid commission.
In a counter-claim, the group rejected his claim and said Holmes had allowed tour costs to spiral out of control, and demanded £14 million in damages.

Tim Finn was pelted with beer cans when he and Split Enz first performed in Australia. Now he’s a beloved elder statesman of mainstream rock, touring Australia in September
When the Kiwi singer tours Australia this month, he will do so as a beloved elder statesman – which could not be more different from his first arena show here.Michael Bailey (Australian Financial Review)
The Life And Times Of Tim Finn: A fitting celebration of a melodic wizard
Jeez we miss the zaniness of Split Enz! Can they please do a reunion tour stat? The band’s stunning one-off Sound Relief re-formation gig in 2009 is still one of this scribe’s best-ever concert experiences. https://www.youtube.Sidonie Bird de la Coeur (Beat Magazine)

Across five critically acclaimed albums (including ARIA and J Award winner Cruel Guards), a handful of EPs, relentless touring and massive tracks like 'Don’t Fight It', 'Creaks' and 'My Best Mistake' the band have helped soundtrack some of the key moments in our lives.
Singer Jae Laffer guides us through the story of the band, from screen-printing Panics T-shirts in high school art class to being scouted by the Happy Mondays drummer Gaz Whelan to performing on stage with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. #music

Those are so much better than the usual 30 Cent foam thingies where you only hear low frequencies.
Unfortunately, it was only a couple of months ago that I've learned about them. So many #music #concerts would have been a dramatically better experience in sound. 😔
