Looking out across a misty Loch Lomond from Rowerdennan yesterday afternoon. This is another of the wonderful locations you can reach within an hour of Glasgow, unless you're walking the West Highland Way. If you are, it'll probably take you a couple of days or so to get here. The view's well worth the effort, though.

One of the great things about living in Glasgow is how close you are to some truly wild places, and with the promise of a rather wonderful sunny Spring day ahead, this morning I got up early and headed out of the city. This a tree I came across at Firkin Point on the west bank of Loch Lomond.

Last april, I had the chance to meet this not shy robin very close to the Glencoe valley.

All it takes is a walk in the middle of nature, stopping for a moment to listen, listen to yourself, strip yourself of the superfluous and understand that you don't need much to live well. This is what I feel when I'm in Scotland.
