A ceasefire is not enough.
Decolonizing demands from us that we pursue these simple, straightforward, easily defensible goals:
1. make sure that crimes do not pay
2. try to prevent people from committing them.
These goals apply as much to the state of Israel as to any other violent colonial power.
We have to keep insisting that the organizations we work for subscribe to them.

To truly #decolonize, we must begin with our minds. Many in the Middle East still view the US as the ultimate power, even as its global influence wanes.
However, the Middle East is no longer a political monolith. Countries are shifting alliances (e.g., joining BRICS), and the fate of #Palestine isn’t solely in the hands of the US.
It's time to break free from old colonial thinking and recognize that true liberation comes from within, not from waiting on the West.

When local #HateCrimes happen to me/my family/my #BIPOC friends - we don't call cops. The cops have abused us too many times for us to expect they'd protect us over bigot perpetrators who attack us. We can't trust cops here who have abused powers of authority & abused/traumatized me/my family/our BIPOC friends & community. We protect ourselves because no one else will.

I was chaining myself to bridge & other infrastructure for over a week. I had experienced over 50 RCMP CIRG raids by this time & refused to stop fighting back. We, war survivors, do not back down from colonial forces easily.
