Howard Dean's political career was destroyed because he yelled slightly too loud while giving a speech motivating those working on his campaign. The media obsessively reported on his speech until he permanently resigned from politics.

Trump has done a large number of things far worse than that, yet the mainstream media has a VERY different response for all things Trump. Functionally, I see little difference between the mainstream media & right-wing media.
