Microplastics found in multiple human organ tissues correlated with lesions

The studies documented particles detected in skin, arteries, veins, thrombi, bone marrow, testes, semen, uterus, and placenta. MNPs were found in the digestive system, from saliva to feces, liver, and gallstones.

Within the respiratory system, MNPs were everywhere, including lung tissue, with microscopic fibers common in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and sputum.

Positive correlations emerged between particle abundance and specific disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease, thrombosis, cervical cancer, and uterine fibroids.

Demand Israel Release Dr. Abu Safiya

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq75Iid7nTo

Israel detained the hospital director/pediatrician who refused to abandon his patients despite unimaginable conditions. His arrest and the targeting of hospitals and healthcare workers are crimes against humanity.

We demand:
⚠️ Immediate release of all detained medical personnel
⚠️ An end to attacks on hospitals and healthcare workers
⚠️ Access to humanitarian aid in Gaza

'I can't go on like this': US asks what's next for healthcare

Well you are going to have to go on like this, because, thanks to Scotus and "Citizens United" not even God has enough money to pay for the Congressional votes you would need to establish a single payer system.

"Believing the health insurance industry is at least partly responsible for the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO is not some fringe position. 69 percent of Americans say health insurance claim denials had “a great deal” or “moderate amount” of responsibility for the killing of CEO Brian Thompson, according to a new poll conducted by NORC at University of Chicago. Nearly as many (67 percent) blamed health insurance company profits.

The poll also captures a nuance that’s sorely lacking in major media coverage, which tends to collapse the issue into two camps: those who condemn the murder vs. those who support it. That kind of two-sizes-fits-all framing leaves no room for the view that both the shooter and the healthcare industry share responsibility for the CEO’s death. NORC’s poll suggests this more nuanced attitude is in fact quite mainstream. The number of respondents who blamed the shooter wasn’t much higher (78 percent) than those who blamed health insurance claim denials (69 percent)."

Insurers’ denial rates are a critical measure of how reliably they pay for customers’ care. But they remain mostly secret to the public.

Federal and state regulators have done little to change that.

Today in #Austin, #Texas, a group of "Luigis" rallied against corporate healthcare in solidarity with Briana Boston with a banner reading "Deny, Defend, Depose: Greed Kills, passing out flyers and posing for photos with passersby.

Text from flyer handed out by "Luigis" in Austin, TX:

"On December 4th, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was gunned down. The bullet casings told the story: this was act of vengeance against UnitedHealthCare, who denies over 30% of health insurance claims—a company emblematic of a system that kills. Every year, over 50,000 Americans die from lack of insurance. 38% percent of us avoid necessary care because we’re scared of the cost. One in twelve is drowning in medical debt. Health insurance companies aren’t doctors. They don’t heal—they profit by restricting access to care. While we ration medications, delay appointments, and worry about bills, they rake in billions. We get sicker and they get richer. This violence isn’t on the evening news. It’s buried beneath their marketing, their endless paperwork, their fine print. But make no mistake: this is violence. And they’re laughing all the way to the bank. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Texas’s largest insurer, denies one in five claims while pocketing $18 billion in revenue. Whether Thompson’s death filled you with joy or horror, it ripped the mask off. The truth was laid bare: these companies are complicit in widespread suffering. Think about the last time you or someone you love worried about a medical bill. Put off care because of the cost. Cut pills in half to make them last. You’ve felt the violence they inflict. Now, the media and government scramble to spin the narrative, calling working-class mother Briana Boston a “terrorist” for uttering “Deny, Defend, Depose” when her claims were denied. We must remain clear headed: a small group gets rich off our illness. The solution is just as simple: abolish these corporations and nationalize health insurance. Single-payer healthcare works everywhere else in the developed world, where people live longer and healthier lives. Texans, by contrast, die three years younger, victims of private healthcare. The only question left is this: When will we stop waiting and take what is ours?"

The problem with this article is that the #media hasn't been very empathetic here. This isn't a case of "white man kills family" and the photo is him jet skiing.

The media has actually been trying pretty hard to shame everyone who is being empathetic to him.

The empathy is coming from social media.

Boutique primary care clinics are making the family doctor shortage worse

"In Canada, where universal health care is a cornerstone of our values, we are facing a primary care access crisis. The problem is multi-faceted and not just due to a decline in the number of licensed family doctors for the first time since the mid-1990s. The role of private primary care “boutique clinics” – and their effects on access and equity in the public system – must be considered."
Recently, a recruiter approached me with an enticing job offer: an income of $390,000 to $450,000 annually, plus a $50,000 signing bonus, to care for just 400 patients (a typical full-time panel is more than 1,200). The catch? This role was at a boutique clinic, operated by “one of Canada’s most recognized brands” and has clinics in B.C., Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland. The recruiter told me that the clinic offers a combination of “insured” services –regular family doctor visits covered by the public system – and “uninsured” services paid for by the patient via extra fees. These uninsured services, I was told, included “comprehensive health assessments” that focus on “prevention and wellness.”
