Israeli PM Netanyahu has selected Yechiel Leiter as the new Israeli ambassador to the United States, days after Republican Donald Trump was elected for a second term in the White House.

Leiter, a US-born resident of an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank, has long been a proponent of illegal settlement expansion. His selection coincides with the Netanyahu government’s enthusiastic response to Trump’s return to the White House.

Jewish Voice for Peace : “There is no intention of allowing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to return to their homes” - Gen Itzik Cohen of the Israeli military.

This week, while American media focused on the election, the Israeli military announced its goal of permanently removing Palestinians from their land in North Gaza. While the Israeli military’s plan of extermination has been clear for weeks—and is the continuation of a year of genocide and decades of displacement and occupation—this official proclamation of permanent ethnic cleansing by the Israeli government amounts to the war crimes of forcible transfer and the use of food as a weapon.
For over a month, Israeli forces have imposed a siege on North Gaza, executing its “general’s plan” to force the 400,000 Palestinians in the area to either leave or die. The Israeli military has cut off the region to all aid, and no food or water has entered since October 1. Horrific footage has circulated of Palestinians blindfolded and detained by the Israeli military. Israeli forces continue to target schools and hospitals, bombing anywhere that can be used as a shelter. Just last night, Israeli airstrikes killed 30 Palestinians sheltering in a school in Gaza City. Palestinians in North Gaza are facing the harshest conditions since the start of the Israeli military’s US-funded genocidal assault last October.
The Israeli government’s current extermination campaign represents the logical conclusion of Zionism, the political ideology that the Israeli state is based on. Zionism envisions the creation of an ethnostate where Jews have more rights than Palestinians; under this colonial logic, Zionism requires forcing Palestinians from their land.
The end goal of the Israeli government and the Zionist project is loud and clear—the total ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes. And our government’s complicity is loud and clear as it continues to fund the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli military with our tax dollars.
Palestinians have the right to live in freedom and the right to return home. We demand that the US government ends its complicity and stops the flow of weapons now.

The Metropolitan Police’s War Crimes Team has shared a “small number of referrals” with the International Criminal Court (ICC) since the Hamas-led attack on Israel last October and and the ensuing war on Gaza.

The United Nations' peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon said on Friday that the Israeli military's "deliberate and direct destruction" of its property was a "flagrant violation" of international law.

The Armed Forces of Yemen’s Sanaa government targeted Israel’s Nevatim airbase in the Negev desert with a Palestine-2 ballistic missile on 8 November.

It also announced shooting down another “American MQ-9 aircraft while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Al-Jawf Governorate at dawn today, Friday.”

This was the 12th US MQ-9 shot down by Yemeni forces. Each one is valued at around $30 million.

I don't get how Harris got 11 million FEWER votes than Biden in #Election2024. It doesn't seem to be misogyny alone, 17% stayed home partly due to #Gaza genocide. She didn't differentiate herself, that she would take a stronger stand. And now millions more will suffer in #Palestine and #Ukraine as well as in the #USA. So short sighted. If she got the same turnout as Biden this WOULD have been a landslide, tRump got 2 million FEWER votes this time.
