Somewhat regretting our spontaneous decision to get our kids 4 chicks during the summer, as 2 turned out to be roosters. Amazingly they are very happy together and don't fight, but jeepers the early morning noise is doing my head in. No idea how I will cope with the early mornings of summer sunrise cockadoodledoos.

After a big winter storm years ago, a channel has been cut in deep snow with chickens walking through, one has it’s neck stretched out so it can look over the wall to see what’s what.

Different year, same chickens, another series of snow channels. Always important to give the chickens access to the compost pile so they can stir it up and aerate it for you. No need for access to playground set, they are all business and will not take time out to swing or slide.
When you wonder if the guard dog is really protecting the flock. A dog is sleeping on a dog bed arrangement on top of deep snow, there’s cleared path to the bed which branches off from the main path where we see an orange chicken standing on one leg and seemingly looking around not sure what to do next.
