Not perfect, but good enough. Yes, the wool is rustic and scratchy. Exactly what I expected and wanted.

This was a fun one! 🤩 Love the way the pattern turned out, and the colours! I'll have to try this design again someday…

(I made a silly error when glossing it that resulted in some surface imperfections, but they're not very noticeable, thankfully! And I learned what to avoid for next time. :da_sweat: )

A photo of a dot painting on a round plaster stone. the design consists of a six-pointed star shape filled with radiating teardrop shapes in metallic colours of purple, pink, and turquoise. The star in the centre is circled with scallop shapes filled with the same teardrop starburst patterns. It's punctuated with metallic silver lines and dots.
Showing off the side scallop designs and silver dots.
More of a top-down view, showing off the six-pointed star shape in the centre.
Holding the stone in my hand, 3/4 view. It's nice and shiny.

Also finished this dishcloth recently.

My mum asked for some knitted dishcloths, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to go through my Vogue Knitting Stitch Dictionary book and practice some of the neat patterns showcased in there. :) This one is called "Eyelet Blocks" with a garter stitch border, and an added i-cord loop for hanging.

A photo of a knitted cotton dishcloth laid flat on a wooden table. The dishcloth features a basket weave pattern with little eyelet holes in the centre of some of the alternating weave cells. It's in a pleasing orange, yellow, and white variegated colour and has a little loop knit on one corner for hanging it.
A photo of the pattern shown in the "Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Stitch Dictionary" book. It's called "Eyelet Blocks", with a written pattern, as well as a pattern chart. Their example is knitted in green yarn.

For those who knit and crochet, here’s an another list of Canadian yarn made with domestically sourced fibres.

A KnitPicks order arrived yesterday, so I cast on a couple new projects. A cowl, a washcloth, and a "soap sock".

Knit the soap sock (first two pics) in a single night, which was nice! Even though I made many mistakes and it was really just kind of bodged together. Still, it'll get the job done! It's just going to hang out in my shower, it doesn't have to be perfect. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

The third pic is the washcloth in the same yarn, KP's Dishie 100% cotton in Goldfish. I'm liking how the colours are pooling in a kind of chevron pattern across the cloth! ^^

No pictures of the cowl yet, I might try redoing it… using two gradient-coloured yarns in stripes, but they both start at white, so you can't see any difference in the stripes, yet. x___x I might try unravelling and re-wrapping a ball to get the gradient switched around and knit it that way, just so I can see the differences.

A photo of a finished knitted "soap sock", a knitted "mitt" or pouch meant to hold a bar of soap. The yarn is a bright orange-white mottled colour, and it's got a bubbly knitted texture to it.
The same "soap sock", but from the back, which is simple seed stitch. There's also a small i-cord loop knitted onto it so it can be hung on a hook.
An in-progress knitted washcloth still on the circular needles, in the same orange-white cotton yarn. It's a simple pattern, a bit of a basket-weave done with knits and pearls with a seed stitch border. Only about 2-inches of it is knitted so far.

Today was my first Tatreez & Chai class!

Thank you Rasha and everyone else. I had fun and learned some important basic skills that I had been missing after trying to learn on my own during the past week.

Here is a photo of my progress, some of it was done after class today. My first cross-stitches ever.

This is for my project with @Haneenalbrqouni

Close up photograph of some tatreez cross-stitching that is in progress. There are two small pieces of aida count 11 cloth, one white and one black. Between the two pieces of fabric is a tatreez pattern printed on paper of watermelons and vines. On top of the piece of paper rests a needle threaded with red thread.

The white cloth on the left has two green watermelons cross stitched in somewhat poorly. The rest of the pattern is drawn onto the fabric with pencil . Resting above this piece of cloth is a floss of green thread numbered 895.

The black cloth on the right has a single watermelon cross-stitched a little more evenly than the two on the white fabric. All three watermelons are green thread. Above the black cloth is a floss of red thread numbered 321.

Good day, fedi, do any of you have recs for a pattern for a crocheted or knitted sea otter? With all the LLM spam patterns, I want to get one that I know will be (ahem) a real pattern. Preferably something you know has been made, or from a pattern maker you know is an actual person 😬 I'm better at crochet than knitting, but will look at either or both, I want to find the best one I can! Thank you! :artotter: #knitting #crochet #amigurumi #crafting

I think I did it!

I may change my mind after I live with it a little. But overall, I’m very happy.

His hair should arrive in a few days.
