Ok, ok. I said I wasn't doing #uspol and then this popped up and I clicked it. Dammit. This argument that we need to defend the #NewYorkTimes is daft.

It says dumb things like "if they fall, other outlets will too" as if the NYT were currently in this very reliable postion, but _might_ capitulate to #Trump if not supported. Sorry, dude (and you know it's a dude), but that ship has sailed.

It describes the NYT as "regular reporting" completely eliding the whole incestuous and corrupt interconnections between the government sources and the "regular" media.

I will not defend the New York Times against its will. Sending them my love and money will tell them what they're doing right now is good. It isn't. If they took a brave, courageous stance, and I could help somehow? That would be different.
