Again good news, better late than never and I hope the trend will continue: La Vanguardia has stopped posting directly on X, citing the platform’s role in spreading misinformation, hate speech, and bot-driven distortions. The move follows the paper’s concerns over content moderation cuts since Musk’s takeover and aligns with Trump’s proposal to appoint Musk to a new government efficiency role.

Some good news: The Guardian has announced it will stop posting from its official accounts on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), due to concerns that the negatives, including "often disturbing content," now outweigh the benefits. The organization informed readers of this decision, affecting over 80 accounts with around 27 million followers.

There's another wave of folks leaving #X/#Twitter, again. Two thoughts:

1) Almost no one is coming to Mastodon. It's all Bluesky, which is disappointing.

2) It's amazing the excuses folks make to avoid having to switch social platforms. I get it—I gave up 23k followers and some reputation when I abandoned Twitter. Still, the idea that it's okay to participate in a flawed platform and support its dangerous narcissistic owner just because you don't want to rebuild your network is really sad.

For some reason people fleeing the sinking #Twitter / #X ship for #BlueSky don't seem to be aware of the fact that crypto bros at #BlockchainCapital bought a huge stake in the company just a few weeks ago. Like these are basically the same crypto bros who just helped #ElonMusk buy Twitter. They might even be literally the same people (I strongly suspect they are but I'm too lazy to check). Either way #BlockchainCapital was co-founded by #BrockPierce, who also brought you #Tether, AKA the company that Trump's transition team chairman manages $120 billion for. Pierce is also a friend of the #Netanyahu family.
