I reported 5+ "great nature photography!" pages on FB today. All of them were posting ridiculous AI generated animal images. I am so sick and tired of this.

(And yes, I'm on FB, because as a freelancer it's hard not to be. But it's just a glorified email account by now.)

I have been using brave search for the past week.
It has a chatGPT kind of thing, but when the #LLM doesn't know, it says it doesn't know, and when it claims to know, it shows where it got the information. Its answers are not always correct, but by looking at its sources, that's possible to see.

When you find a very cool tarot deck on Kickstarter: 🥰 😊 🤩

When you find out that it was AI generated: 🤬 🤬 🤬

I appreciate KS making it mandatory to disclose AI generated works, but... I just can't with this, y'all. Seriously.

I know it's a new technology, and we're told that it's all complicated, but it just seems fairly obvious to me that using anything in training data is creating a derivative work from it, ergo consent should be needed beyond fair use stipulations, just like using someone's text in a book, or their music in a video.

All the talk about it being so new and different just seem like deliberate obfuscation as a stalling tactic against regulation.

The Artist Rights Alliance, an artist-led non-profit, has circulated an open letter with over 200 signatures from musical artists calling for action against harmful uses of AI in music from tech platforms.

LinkedIn was down. A lot of people were panicking.

But rather than panic, I saw an #opportunity.

Using all of my strength I ran to the nearest LinkedIn datacenter. I was able to gain access because I made a #personal #connection with the security guard. I actually invested in their ceramics business while I was talking to them.

Once I’d gained access to the servers I was able to deploy a fix I’d written using ChatGPT #AI #genAI.

I fixed LinkedIn, and walked out of the datacenter where everyone was applauding.

I say this not to brag or show off, but to share a story of how you have to show #leadership in the moment, and step up when you can. The CEO of LinkedIn called me that night to thank me. #influencer #hustle #horseownership

TL;DR: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has explicitly stated that health insurance companies are prohibited from using algorithms or artificial intelligence (AI) to deny coverage or determine care for members on Medicare Advantage plans. The CMS memo emphasizes that coverage decisions must be based on the individual patient's circumstances, and AI tools can only be used to ensure compliance with coverage criteria.

All week I've been writing on the Internet about using LLMs to summarize and extract data from texts. So, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

"Follow This One Trick to Write Great Headlines"¹

https://sadlynothavocdinosaur.com/posts/headlines/

I figured generating a headline is kind of the apotheosis of this week's prompts. I mean, ideally, it feels like a headline is a distillation of a text's essence.

The Sleepy Copyright Office in the Middle of a High-Stakes Clash Over AI

The attention stems from a first-of-its-kind review of copyright law in the age of artificial intelligence. FB just offered me an ad titled "Learn ChatGPT in just 4 weeks!"

I have so many questions.

Like, is the course taught by ChatGPT? Is the material about ChatGPT written by ChatGPT? Does it come with a certificate? Is there an exam? How do I know the material written by ChatGPT about ChatGPT is accurate?... Does it matter?...
