Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich hier im Blog LinkedIn als Keyword hinterlegt habe. Aber man muss immer wieder über die Plattform diskutieren. Was macht denn jetzt eigentlich der Laden voller Business-Kasper? Sind die jetzt in einer Art Schleim gefangen und kommen da nicht mehr raus? Warum ich das frage? Ich bin ja immernoch dabei, mich in meinem Beruf, den ich immernoch sehr schätze, thematisch neu aufzustellen. Und mir fehlt da der fachliche Austausch. Wenn es den jemals im Internet gab, dann eben nur auf LinkedIn. Deshalb auch der Artikel.

Watch out for #phishing emails. My client's #HR manager just received an email purportedly from me asking her to change my bank account details.
Fortunately I'm a contractor so "Payroll" was a bit off as a title, and she checked with me in person.

I'm assuming they made the connection between me and them by scraping #LinkedIn. Another reason to drop it.

Ernsthaft? Für mich ist das ein klarer Vertrauensbruch. Einfach enttäuschend.

Do you like the ”short-form video trend”?

Seems all apps and websites nowadays lean into video. News sites posting their stuff as a summery videos. LinkedIn promoting video. Even YouTube pushing their "shorts" follow this trend.

And of course TikTok does only this.

I often prefer for the text version myself (or sometimes long-form video). These short-form videos seldom provide good overviews of what they cover IMO.

"According to a 2024 survey from MyPerfectResume, 81% of recruiters admitted to posting ads for positions that were fake or already filled. While some respondents said employers did it to maintain a presence on job boards and build a talent pool, it’s also used to commit psychological warfare: 25% said ghost jobs helped companies gauge how replaceable their employees were, while 23% said it helped make the company appear more stable during a hiring freeze.

After interviewing 1,641 hiring managers, Resume Builder researchers found that 40% of employers posted fake job listings in 2024, and that three in 10 currently had ghost jobs listed. The idea to post them mostly trickled down from HR, followed by senior management and executives, their June 2024 article continued. Though the listings were posted on multiple hiring platforms, the majority of them appeared on LinkedIn and the companies’ websites.

Evidence suggests this trend is taking hold throughout the Bay Area, too.

A collaborative document circulating online reveals a growing list of employers accused of posting ghost jobs. Many of them, it turns out, are tech companies with offices based in California."
