Streetartwall. A fantastic mural based on a comic drawing by Max Cabannes has been installed on the outside wall of a four-storey building on the city wall. The huge mural (120 m²) is painted entirely in shades of blue and shows a girl leaning against the city wall and looking down on the city below. This painted light blue wall connects to the real city wall on the right. The mural shows the view of a town built into the rock on the wall of the house. It incorporates parts of the surroundings, such as roofs and parts of buildings, e.g. the city wall, and continues them in an imaginary view. A wonderfully precise work that extends over several levels and characterizes the cityscape.

Love this mural on Govan Road in Glasgow. Created by the street artist Smug and painted in 2022, it was inspired by Govan-born Peter Barr. In the late 1800s, Barr was responsible for bringing daffodils back into fashion, earning him the nickname of the Daffodil King, and bringing a much needed splash of colour to our parks, gardens and streets every Spring ever since.

Walking down the ever dodgy steps at the back of the Wellgate Centre, Dundee, I happened to glance back.

New street art since the last time I was there! I believe this is by Pamie Bennett. Murals first started appearing here about 4 years ago, by a community group working on a project called Positive Challenges, inspiring, cheerful bit of street art popped up at the steps. I didn't get any photos of the rest of it.

Anyone that knows Dundee, knows how dismal the Wellgate Shopping Centre is (although it does have some good things going on - like a thriving library and a lot of small community support shops and services), the stairs out the back are bleak though, so I love this art decorating the space.

Dundee has a lot of talented folk. I am looking at the positives of the city here 😉

Streetartwall. A magnificent mural depicting a rushing river has been painted on the outside wall of a two-storey house. The image is positioned between four windows, painted in a naïve style and designed like an oil painting with bold colors and skillful brushstrokes. The mural shows a flood, a raging blue river on which an orange-colored car is being swept along and is now floating past the houses on the other bank. Five dark-haired young men in modern, colorful clothing stand in the foreground on the bank between trees. With their hands in their pockets, they watch the scene impassively. Meanwhile, one of the men is fishing with a rod. It is unclear to the viewer whether the river has already burst its banks. Info: The subject and motif were freely selectable.
