FakeCall (or FakeCalls) is a banking trojan with a focus on voice phishing, in which victims are deceived through fraudulent calls impersonating banks, asking them to convey sensitive information. In addition to vishing (voice phishing), FakeCall could also capture live audio and video streams from the infected devices, allowing attackers to steal sensitive data without victim interaction. The malware also exploits the Android Accessibility Service to capture screen content and manipulate the device’s display to create a deceptive user interface while mimicking the legitimate phone app.

The app requests permission to become the default call handler. If granted, the malware gains extensive privileges. A fake call interface mimics the actual Android dialer, displaying trusted contact information and names, elevating the level of deception to a point that's hard for victims to realize. What makes this malware so dangerous is that when a user attempts to call their financial institution, the malware secretly hijacks the call and redirects it to an attacker's phone number instead.

It’s hard to overstate how traumatic the 2016 and 2020 elections were for many pollsters. For some, another underestimate of Mr. Trump could be a major threat to their business and their livelihood. For the rest, their status and reputations are on the line. If they underestimate Mr. Trump a third straight time, how can their polls be trusted again? It is much safer, whether in terms of literal self-interest or purely psychologically, to find a close race than to gamble on a clear Harris victory. At the same time, the 2016 and 2020 polling misfires shattered many pollsters’ confidence in their own methods and data. When their results come in very blue, they don’t believe it. And frankly, I share that same feeling: If our final Pennsylvania poll comes in at Harris +7, why would I believe it? As a result, pollsters are more willing to take steps to produce more Republican-leaning results.

Interesting opinion piece at @Poynter. I disagree with it—WaPo is not 'one of the most important news organizations on the planet'—but hyperbole aside, media needs to be trustworthy fom publisher on down, or you can't trust what the publication curates for publication. You can't argue "good apples". My own experience with WaPo journalists made me very skeptical about what they publish and why. Media need to earn the trust to earn the money.

Landets beslutsfattare passerar dagligen nya gränser: tältläger bombas och patienter bränns till döds, sjukvarden slas ut och civila massbegravs under raserade byggnader. FN:s generalsekreterare förklaras persona non grata och fredsbevarande FN-trupper beskjuts i Libanon, oberoende press förbjuds och journalister dödas, ministrar hetsar om att driva bort palestinier och bygga nya illegala bosättningar.
Ända terstär en allt mer löjeväckande grupp som vidhäller det rättfärdiga i den israeliska militärmaktens agerande. Som med hänvisning till 7 oktober inte verkar kunna halla Israel ansvarigt för vare sig handlingar eller metoder - oavsett hur extrema. I takt med att krigsbrotten ackumuleras blir deras argument desperatare. Den senaste trenden är att peka pa andra konflikter och ifragasätta varför de inte väcker samma engagemang. Ofta fran skribenter och tyckare som själva aldrig tidigare har visat intresse för nämnda konflikter.
