das schwarzweißfoto im hochformat zeigt eine starke nahaufnahme eines wassertropfens auf einer glatten, abgerundeten fläche. der tropfen liegt flach auf einer grauen armlehne eines stuhles. die lehne ist als horizontaler streifen unterhalb der bildmitte zu sehen. die lehne hat eine sehr feine struktur bzw. musterung. der flach aufliegende tropfen hat die form einer optischen linse. sie funktioniert tatsächlich auch wie eine linse. der tropfen gibt das bild der strukturierten armlehne wieder. sie ist ebenso wie die armlehne grau und ebenso texturiert. der hintergrund ist schlicht schwarz. dadurch wirkt das bild minimalistisch.

Besides it stands a man, wearing a hood. The background of the picture shows the night sky, although only a few stars are visible, as well as a few short white strikes which indicate moving objects. The ’star’ of this composition, though, is the comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS), which covers most of the frame and looks like a giant feather in the sky (or a bushy cat’s tail). The core of the comet (its tip) is bright white, while its tail becomes more diffuse as you go away from the core.
