All you vintage vehicle enthusiasts, feast your eyes upon the treasure trove of the Bridgeton Bus Garage, where the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust store these magnificent specimen of publc transport from years gone by.

Click on the photo to enlarge it.

Two rows of vintage double decker buses facing each other at a 45 degree angle. Mostly red buses to the left, and orange or green/cream/yellow buses on the right. The buses on the right are mostly former Glasgow Corporation, or Greater Glasgow buses, depending on the era and when our Glasgow city councillors decide to change the name of our transport system.

"Golden Drapery", Scotland's Ancient Caledonian Forest (2024).

A crown of floating pines. This is a common occurrence on Scottish lochs and tells a deeper story of the #landscape. Deer can't access these islands and so isolated patches of ancient woodland remain unscathed — if we look across the shore, we see the barren backdrop beyond. I loved the way these backlit #autumn birch leaves framed the scene, giving a sense of time and place.

No Guardian - it will certainly have some effect in #England and #Wales, it will make a near zero difference in #Scotland and #NI its not even mentioned. Does anyone at the ‘paper’ understand any geography or the laws on access of wild spaces in the different countries?

And the English media complain about Ferries! At least we need the ferries, those aircraft carriers, especially given the US behaviour are a waste of ocean.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Spring has arrived in Scotland.
Repeat, spring has arrived in Scotland.

#bloomScrolling #Scotland #photography
A close up photo of some bright purple crocus flowers in the sunshine. There are dark thin leaves shooting up around the petals and a light green blurred background behind.

A stroll through Inverleith Park and the Botanics.

I love the line of trees in Inverleith Park, and they made me seek out a similar but different prospect in the Botanics. Lots of crocuses and daffodils too, though I didn't notice and forgot to look for the famous snowdrops!

I think it was my first visit to the Botanics since Storm Eowyn. There are still many trees down. It's a bit like seeing injured friends.

A colour photograph taken in Inverleith Park in Edinburgh. In the foreground is a large area of grass, on which a couple of people are walking in the distance.

Post the grass is a line of of fifteen tall trees, part of a long avenue through the park. The bare trees are silhouetted against the sky.

In the distance, hard to make out in the fight haze is the skyline of Edinburgh.
A colour photograph taken in the Botanics (Royal Botanic Gardens) in Edinburgh. It shows a hillside, at the top of which and to the left of the picture is Inverleith House, a Georgian building.

In front of that are four trees and in front of them a grassy slope, in which a very many white and purple crocuses and yellow daffodils are flowering.
A colour photograph of a line of trees (poplars, I believe) in the Botanics (Royal Botanic Gardens) in Edinburgh, taken from the entrance to Inverleith House.

Taken facing north, a line of eight bare trees fills most of the picture. In the foreground is a round pond with a metal statue in its centre. The line is surrounded by a broad pathway.

Beyond the line of trees are bushes and other trees.

Above them is a clear blue sky

'Starmer needs to address the reality that any past relationship, however mythical this might be, is unlikely to be upheld by an increasingly unreliable if not absent America ally. In a clever political move, he could re-embrace Europe as a strategic and economic partner. He could re-examine the Russian report. '

He could - he won't

Strengthening the Canada-EU relationship.

Whether this way or another, the goal makes a great deal of sense given the development and acceleration of an autocratic, empire wishing kleptocracy in the US. The country can not be trusted (and I talk as somene with much admiration for much of it).

I have been travelling in the Highlands for a few days, going up past Loch Lomond, through Glencoe and along the Great Glen to Inverness, then back via Strathdearn glen and Perthshire.
Boy oh boy, what a country.
This from a very wet, very windy Glencoe, showing the Three Sisters in all their glory.

The Fife Coastal Path from Anstruther to Pittenweem then St. Monans.

Powerful gusts still battered us on the coast, but that just heightened the mood and drama. Gorgeous sandstone formations and beautiful coastal fishing villages... lovely.

And there's more photos from this day! I implore you, wayfinder, seek ye here https://www.iancylkowski.com/blog/2025/3/6/pittenweem-st-monans-east-neuk-of-fife-scotland-winter 👍

A charming coastal scene at Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. A quiet pathway runs alongside a row of pastel-coloured houses, with walls in shades of cream, pink, and blue, and roofs adorned with vibrant red tiles. A wooden bench sits invitingly on the left, while a few chairs and tables hint at outdoor seating. The path leads towards the sea, where gentle waves lap at the rocky shoreline. The sky is partly cloudy, creating a serene atmosphere that captures the essence of this picturesque seaside village.
A rocky shoreline at Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. The foreground features smooth, multicoloured rocks with varying shades of brown, orange, and green, interspersed with small shells and pebbles. A larger, rounded boulder sits prominently amongst the rocks. In the background, jagged cliffs rise sharply, partially covered in moss, under a moody sky filled with soft clouds. The gentle waves of the sea can be seen lapping at the rocky shore, creating a serene coastal atmosphere.
A scenic view of St. Monans in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. In the foreground, a grassy slope leads down to the rocky shoreline, where the blue sea stretches out. Prominently featured is a historic church with a distinctive pointed steeple, set against a backdrop of charming white and red-roofed houses that line the coast. The pathway curves along the hillside, guiding the eye towards the village. Above, a bright blue sky dotted with fluffy clouds enhances the picturesque charm of this coastal location.

In the foreground, layered rocks in shades of brown, yellow, and green create a textured landscape, interspersed with small pebbles and seaweed. The rocks lead towards the water, where gentle waves lap at the shore. In the background, prominent rocky formations rise from the sea, while a row of houses sits atop the cliff, providing a charming contrast to the natural scenery. The sky is overcast, casting a soft light over the entire scene, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.

There are 0 history of the company doing anything other than collecting money online and pretending that they are a charity helping people in Gaza.

There are nothing online about them other than on FB and GoFundme and one page on LinkedIn all having the EXACT same information without substance.
https://www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-aid-the-gaza-team

On that page, she says that she created the organization on November 2023, despite the fact that the company was registered on September 2023.

An image from a special morning exploring fog, light, and autumnal colours in a glen filled with brilliant trees. Running around making the most of the conditions, I particularly loved the backlight on the rusty ferns here, highlighting the shift in seasons taking place.

On this day in history. The paddle steamer Maid of the Loch was launched on Loch Lomond 72 years ago today, on 5 March 1953, and regularly sailed on the loch until 1981. It is hoped to return her to service. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lomond/maidoftheloch/index.html
