Today we cleaned up her front acre. I mowed and mulched enough to wear myself out.
Summer says that she feels sad that we feel sad.
I told her that I don't have time for feeling sad. I am old and my husband is ten years older. We have no option except to ride out what time we have left in our little house, on a northern California hillside, as happily as we can.
I don't want to let the current political situation deny us happiness for the time we have left.
I will do everything I can to help circle the wagons around those that are dear to me and deal with what I have to, when I have to. I will try to be a source of comfort for whoever needs comfort. I will toot Summer photos and beauty where I find it, but I am done doomscrolling.
Zero politics for me for awhile.

(There's a story behind this photo. I was walking alone, attempting to unwind after a particularly rough day. Behind me was the local cemetery (the road leading to it).
I noticed this light and grabbed my Galaxy Nexus. Although the phone had a subpar camera, this time, with some minor color adjustments, it produced a surprisingly good result.)

There's a spot in the #GobiDesert where sunset briefly casts light on the face of these cliffs. On the day of my visit it was cloudy and it appeared that I was out of luck. But as there was a fleeting moment where the sun broke through. I have tweeked the brightness-contrast to make the shot more attractive to me.
