The problem with the modern world is that every pic of the LA fires I see (and I am not seeking them out) looks fake. It is nearly impossible, at a glance, to tell the difference between a picture of reality and something artificially generated. Consequently, you start to doubt EVERYTHING just as the vultures want you to.

We look down on an array of colorful semicircular fans. They're decorated with thin bands in many hues of brown and orange. Each fan stands erect and is attached to a tree trunk by the fan's "handle". The bands of color emerge from this point of attachment like the crests of the waves produced by plopping a pebble into a stream. The fan's outer edge is ragged and rounded, spreading like a lazy cat's toes. Bright sunshine makes everything warm and cozy.
