ExpressVPN Finally Gives Linux Users Split Tunnelling and a GUI
“The ExpressVPN on Linux GUI, now available in beta, will enjoy a general release with the v4 update later this year. It’s essentially a 1:1 port of the ExpressVPN GUI that Windows and macOS users have enjoyed for some time. It’s got the same interface, it offers dark mode support, and it works in 17 languages.”
Very nice, and this would put ExpressVPN ahead of Proton VPN on Linux. Proton’s VPN client is a GUI client, but it lacks some of the Windows client’s features, such as the split tunnelling. Linux users can add manual routing to their GUI Network Manager to achieve this, but I’m sure novice users will be unsure how to do this.

Wie aufwändig wäre es, LIVE-Distros so zu erweitern, dass während des Bootens, bevor der Prozess das GUI (Grafische Oberfläche) startet, eine Abfrage geschalten wird, in welcher Sprache die LIVE-Umgebung genutzt werden möchte?
Hintergrund:
Sehr viele - vermutlich die meisten Distros - booten in ein englisch-sprachiges GUI, mit einer auf Englisch (US) eingestellten Tastatur (u.a. z und y vertauscht und viele Sondertasten an anderen Stellen hinterlegt).
Das erhöht die Hürde für deutschsprachige Interessierte, die kein Englisch können, enorm.
(Mit "kein Englisch" meine ich tatsächlich, die nicht wissen, dass "Sprache" auf Englisch "Language" heißt, oder "Tastatur" "Keyboard", usw.)
Wenn ich mir anschaue, wie ich in Linxu Mint (Cinnamon) nur die Tastaturbelegung von Englisch auf Deutsch ändern muss, erfordert das 13 einzelne Schritte (ich habe es für eine Anleitung einzeln aufgeschrieben).
Damit ist aber das GUI noch nicht auf Deutsch umgestellt.
(sofern ich nichts falsch gemacht habe).

When Microsoft first introduced Recall, it was on by default. Then they turned it off, because people were appalled. Not sure what they do now.
