I find more and more researchers don't respond to emailed media queries -- even when I'm trying to report on their studies. It suddenly occurred to me that maybe some of them don't think the email queries are legit. If you're uncertain (or even if you're just too busy), forward the query to your university/institutional communications/media relations team. They can sort things out.
