This morning's shit bird photo is brought to you from the bird bath.
I put some mealworms on the shed roof this morning but are the little buggers taking the bait? Are they fuck 😡 😁

#ShitBirdPhotos #Gardens
Dreadful photo of two sparrows sitting at the bird bath. The evergreen clematis that has overtaken the garden fence is in t he background, and a random shrub that seems determined to colonise said bird bath is making an appearance from the right of the shot.

Anyone want another shit bird photo?

C'maaaan, you know you do! Bonus points if you can tell me what they are 🤣

A truly abysmal photo of my willow tree with two birds sitting in it under a grey sky.

Good morning 👋 😊
Please enjoy this incredibly shit photo of a nuthatch at my bird feeder this morning, taken in haste from the bedroom window 😂

A nuthatch perched on top of the frame of a bird feeder.

Well, I went out to the garden to try and snap some of the chaffinches, blue tits and nuthatches that have been darting about but, as usual, they wouldn't oblige me by staying still for two seconds at a time, even when I cunningly camouflaged myself under the outrageously overgrown clematis 🙄 😡 😂
So here's some winter berries on the pergola.

An evergreen wound through a trellis with lots of bright red berries.

#hedgehogs ‘near threatened’ on red list after 30% decline over past decade. The #mammals were once common across #Europe but #urbandevelopment has pushed them towards #extinction
While hedgehogs were once common across Europe, and were until now listed as of “least concern” on the red list, they are being pushed towards extinction by urban development, intensive #farming and #roads, which have fragmented their #habitat. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/oct/28/hedgehogs-near-threatened-red-list-decline-over-past-decade #environment #ecology #gardens #wildlife #nature

Dear #Fediverse: We are looking for a good solution to collaboratively create and maintain a #list of #open #source technologies for #gardens from #software to #hardware.

the solution should
* offer public visibility (via html)
* be easily editable (with or w/o account)
* have a version history
* be low tech
* hosted by other good people
* open source (of course)

extras for some style features, data fields and federation

tips welcome, boosts as well.
