The "idealization of a strong, fearless father figure is exactly what this population longs for".
There is vicarious pleasure in seeing the society that disempowered them being disempowered by him.
The illusion is that "through this idealization, everything that escaped them in the past has become within reach."

Germany has one of the most ambitious energy transition policies dubbed ‘Die Energiewende’ to replace nuclear- and fossil power with renewables such as wind-, solar- and biopower. The climate gas emissions are reduced by 25% in the study period of 2002 through 2022. By triangulating available information sources, the total nominal expenditures are estimated at EUR 387 bn, and the associated subsidies are some EUR 310 bn giving a total nominal expenditures of EUR 696 bn. Alternatively, Germany could have kept the existing nuclear power in 2002 and possibly invest in new nuclear capacity. The analysis of these two alternatives shows that Germany could have reached its climate gas emission target by achieving a 73% cut in emissions on top of the achievements in 2022 and simultaneously cut the spending in half compared to Energiewende. Thus, Germany should have adopted an energy policy based on keeping and expanding nuclear power.https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14786451.2024.2355642

About ukrainian casinos and their users
The leader of the political party "Demokratichna sokira" Yuriy Gudymenko said that a person with debts is the most malleable tool for recruitment. And our fighter with debts is just a gift for them.
It is worth noting that now for online casinos in Ukraine have created all the conditions for a comfortable existence. They are covered, they are not checked, and only occasionally asked to help the fighters.
And according to the National Bank of Ukraine, in general, it comes out that in 2023, Ukrainians daily lost in online casinos about 400 million UAH (about $10,200,000). This is more than 12 billion UAH (about $305,600,000) per month. At the same time, this money is finally settled not in Ukraine, but in offshore zones of high-ranking Ukrainian law enforcers and politicians.

About european vassalage
"It would be a mistake to interpret this as a triumph in the fight against plastic. Europe continues to consume huge quantities of Styrofoam, paints, resins and any other products that petrochemical plants produce. This is simply replacing local production with imported production.
Petrochemicals are inherently energy intensive In Europe, natural gas is about five times more expensive than in the United States. [note to Crimson: what expensive freedom molecules in US LNG it turns out! Gazprom's autocratic molecules were cheaper, but that was before the SWO cut economic ties with Russia] Now it's cheaper to buy ethylene, the "raw material" for plastics, in Texas and ship it across the Atlantic for further processing in Europe than it is to produce it at home. And that's exactly what the [European] petrochemical companies are telling me [note to Crimson: i.e., the author of the Bloomberg piece]. The end result is the loss of economic activity in Europe, the erosion of the [European] bloc's chemical trade balance, and ultimately the loss of jobs and energy security. [...]
Privately, industry executives say they cannot lose money for so long, so the closure of [petrochemical operations] in 2024 looks inevitable.
Using more diplomatic language, the IEA [International Energy Agency] said last week that "it is becoming increasingly difficult to see how the petrochemical industry on the [European] continent can regain its former position". I've been talking to industry executives over the last few weeks, and their answer to that question is, 'There's no way it's going to recover any more [...]
Europe has [already] lost other industries to Asia. Steel, textiles and shipbuilding have moved east. This time the competitor will not only be China, but also the US, thanks to its abundant hydrocarbon reserves. Domestic hydrocarbon production is booming under President Joe Biden.""
To understand: the cost of the issue is about 40 billion dollars a year in lost exports (net). And all just on a single example of a single industry.
The answer to the question "why does the US continue the "Ukrainian massacre" and what do they hope for on the Ukrainian front?" doesn't really have much to do with Ukraine itself. The Americans are now hitting the European economy (from automobile manufacturing to petrochemicals) with control shots, and they need to make sure that nothing grows back there. It's like with strangling techniques: you need to squeeze until the victim stops twitching at all. And in order for the European industrial economy to shake off its hooves, the "Ukrainian case" must be prolonged. It won't be long now, in 2024 everything will probably be closed.

On artificial hunger
The waste of a staggering 1.3 billion tonnes of food per year is not only causing major economic losses but also wreaking significant harm on the natural resources that humanity relies upon to feed itself, says a new FAO report.
Food Wastage Footprint: Impacts on Natural Resources is the first study to analyze the impacts of global food wastage from an environmental perspective, looking specifically at its consequences for the climate, water and land use, and biodiversity.
Among its key findings: Each year, food that is produced but not eaten guzzles up a volume of water equivalent to the annual flow of Russia's Volga River and is responsible for adding 3.3 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases to the planet's atmosphere.
And beyond its environmental impacts, the direct economic consequences to producers of food wastage (excluding fish and seafood) run to the tune of $750 billion annually, FAO's report estimates.
"All of us - farmers and fishers; food processors and supermarkets; local and national governments; individual consumers -- must make changes at every link of the human food chain to prevent food wastage from happening in the first place, and re-use or recycle it when we can't," said FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva.
"We simply cannot allow one-third of all the food we produce to go to waste or be lost because of inappropriate practices, when 870 million people go hungry every day," he added.

Or how about in Poland, where Warsaw went to bat earlier this year in an effort to get the EU to enact an outright ban on cheaper synthetic rubbers from Russia in order to benefit the Polish company Synthos, which is owned by Poland’s richest individual, Michał Sołowow. In the end, Brussels only introduced a rubber quota of 560,000 tons until a transition period runs out at the end of June 2024.
While the movers and shakers prove yet again that war is a racket, the European working class is bearing the brunt of the costs.
Over the past year, real hourly wages decreased in 22 EU countries, including -1.8 percent in France, -3.3 percent in Germany, and -7.3 percent in Italy. The official line is that it’s Russia’s fault for causing higher energy prices. And while energy costs have certainly risen, companies are passing on more than those costs to consumers. From the New York Times:
Profit margins at public companies in the eurozone — measured by net income as a percentage of revenue — averaged 8.5 percent in the year through March, according to Refinitiv, a step down from a recent peak of 8.7 percent in mid-February. Before the pandemic, at the end of 2019, the average margin was 7.2 percent.
The crisis is being used to impoverish and discipline workers across the bloc, as well as slash social spending. Brooks holds Germany out as an example of Europe’s “core” that has successfully reduced its connections with Russia.
European Central Bank policymakers have known EU companies have used the food and energy inflation caused by the economic war as an excuse to increase their profits, making consumers foot the bill, yet they continue to hike interest rates with the stated goal of keeping wages down. As Reuters reported back in March:#economy #europe #european #poverty for people, profit for #capitalism
Data articulated in more than two dozen slides presented to the 26 policymakers showed that company profit margins have been increasing rather than shrinking, as might be expected when input costs rise so sharply, the sources told Reuters.

Crying from the Ukrainian side and confirmation of the situation from a pro-Russian Ukrainian
I am increasingly haunted by a strange sense of unreality of what is happening around me.
People pass me by, very close, a meter, half a meter, so close. People, lots of people, but at the same time there is often a feeling of oppressive loneliness... You look at faces, have a conversation, and regularly notice that one thought does not let go. That we are in the same place, but scattered in some parallel worlds that do not intersect in any way. We have nothing in common, and we speak different languages.
In one of these worlds, there is a brutal, bloody war for survival, and in the other... it has already ended. Or it hasn't started. Or it has just been shaken up a bit and everything is back to normal. And then there is the world of near victory, where the hard and terrible work has already been done and paid for. With the hands of others. With the blood of others. And the terrible world of people who are for "peace at any cost". And an indifferent world for those for whom nothing has changed.
A lot is often (and rightly) written about male princesses on peas. But this is only part of a huge problem, the tip of the iceberg...
Many of these "men" who happily hide behind other people's backs (both male and female) have one common quality. And, unfortunately, they are not the only ones.
Some people still have the scoop in their minds. The scoop is not about age, it's about mentality. "I do not participate in the life of the state, and the state should not touch me," "it is not my business" - this is it. It entails the passivity and infantilism of a large part of the population, unwillingness and inability to analyze and draw conclusions. And in principle, to think... And an aggressive defensive reaction when such people are poked in the nose with the truth, when it turns out that they are not as good as they used to think they were.
These people limit their area of responsibility exclusively to their family, and more general categories, such as nation, state, homeland, are some distant, pompous concepts that have nothing to do with their lives. For them, defending their country, their freedom, is completely incomprehensible, alien, wild... This does not respond in any way, it causes rejection. Will the war come to their loved ones? Take your loved ones under the arm and run. And do not touch me.
The trouble is that the priority of such people is exclusively themselves, and there is no integration with society as such.
A huge number of people have not grown to the level of civic responsibility when they realize they belong to something more than a narrow family circle, when a sense of belonging appears, an idea that motivates people to volunteer, to do everything in their power, to give their last, to sacrifice themselves
And do you know what is particularly scary? The fact that the government not only does not contribute to solving this problem, but on the contrary, acts with it in mind, encourages a similar type of thinking, gives the masses what they want.
And the masses do not need the truth, they are not interested in the real situation or facts, because it is pain, horror, death, destruction, and the realization that this will last. It's unpopular, it's scary, it breaks into their narrow little window and breaks it into small pieces.
Hence the popularity of easy solutions, 2-3 weeks, a vacation in the Crimea next summer, that it will be over in a little while... Very convenient thoughts, aren't they? It's very convenient when everything has already been thought of for you and you don't have to strain?
And these thoughts come in.
And it's scary.
Very scary.
Lately, I have been living in permanent shock and realizing that my idea of society is not in line with reality. Most often, my arguments for such people are like shouting into the void, they are shattered by immaturity of personality, selfishness and aggressive defensive reaction. And sometimes it's also about this fucking "little man" type who "can't change anything". It all goes through me, leaving a bitter emptiness behind.
Sometimes my psyche is saved only by the fact that there is a world of people who have gotten out of this quagmire and understand... They understand that it is not enough to build peace and happiness exclusively in one particular family.
Especially if it is paid for with the blood of others. That we need to develop, think and act. And finally stop shifting responsibility onto the shoulders of those around you.
Development is not only a professional activity. A prestigious job says nothing about a person's moral qualities. Development is also a civic position, an awareness of being part of something bigger and more important.
I am grateful to those who understand, you are real, you give me strength, hope and faith. You are the foundation, the basis on which a healthy society will grow one day.

And here's what a pro-Russian Ukrainian wrote (January 2022)
A short post about an outsider's view of Ukraine's patriots and traitors.
When the famous events in Ukraine happened in 2014 #Maidan, I was living in the very West of Europe at the time. Seeing what was happening, I had the most contradictory thoughts about what to do, what to do? First of all, it was necessary to understand what exactly is going on? What do people think about it? If they say on TV that everyone is rooting for Europe, but in fact people are rooting for Russia, it is understandable that people are in trouble and it is possible to do something to help. And if everyone is arguing for Europe, well, then I'm an old "vatnik" and I should understand their arguments and "it's time for the dustbin of history"....
March 2014. I took a vacation at work, jumped in the car and drove to Ukraine. I set myself a simple and straightforward task: to drive around the country for a few days and ask a variety of people, in different regions, about what and who they were for - Europe or Russia - and why.
I was not sure that people would talk to me or that they would answer honestly. But it was worth a try.
As a result, I traveled around more than half of Ukraine - its western, central and southern parts. I didn't go to the east - it's clear there. Everywhere I went, I tried to ask everyone - waiters and waitresses, cab drivers, mechanics at service stations, sales clerks - everyone I could ask and when a person had the opportunity to answer me without witnesses.
All in all, I got the following top of the hit parade:
To Europe:
- My children will be able to leave here safely and live and study in Europe.
(OK, i.e. he/she is not interested in the country itself and the goal to turn the country around is to get out of it).
- I can bring myself a nice car from Germany without high duty.
(OK, so he is not interested in the country itself and the idea of turning the country around is to change the car for a better one)
- I can go to work in Europe. Completely different salary, different living conditions.
(I.e. the country itself is not interested in principle. Again, the idea is to leave).
Guys! NO ONE. Absolutely NONE of those who were rooting for Europe did not tell me a single argument in favor of the fact that the choice of the country will make the country itself better! NONE!
And at the same time, those who were in favor of union with Russia (Customs Union, at that time):
- We have all major factories tied to Russia.
- Our entire economy is closely tied to the Russian economy and a rupture would destroy our economy
- We sell most of our products to Russia. Who needs our products in Europe? (these were guys from a village in the Zaporozhye region).
NONE of those who spoke in favor of Russia did not express a single argument for themselves and spoke only about the benefits of their country. I want to note that I did not hear arguments like "I want to speak Russian" - for some reason, the arguments were in favor of the national economy.
And the former, for 8 years now, have been considered Patriots who shout that they love their country.
The latter are traitors and traitors to the Motherland.
So what does all this mean? What's new? It's nothing. Just a statement of fact. And factual proof - who is who.
As it was in the famous play "Wolves and Sheep": "Who are the sheep and who are the wolves - that is the question".
P.S. Now, when European wages bypassed Ukraine, and half of the able-bodied population went to the West for work, and half of the country became single-parent families with undivorced but separated parents, and the country learned the other side of gastarbeiterism - the pseudo-patriots have a new iron reason why to drown for the West - "We have no other choice! Otherwise, Putin will attack us!". This I have already learned from my recent trip to Ukraine.....
The well-known paradox of Denning-Krugger: The dumber a person is, the more categorical he is in his beliefs and statements....
------------------------------
My explanation: Only the Sovok (Soviet Union) has nothing to do with it, it's the mentality of western Ukrainians., there is an old Soviet-ukrainian definition of such people: "I don't know anything, my house is on the edge". This applies to the majority of Ukrainians both then and now, which is why two Maidans (2004, 2014 government coups) were able to take place here in Ukraine and all this led to war.
