das schwarzweißfoto im querformat zeigt eine einsame person, die an einem sandstrand entlanggeht, der von einem ruhigen wasserlauf begrenzt wird. ein warm gekleidete person mit rucksack ist in einiger entfernung an der linken bildkante zu sehen. der sand ist von deutlichen, wellenförmigen mustern geprägt, die durch die wirkung der gezeiten entstanden sind. der strand ist breit und erstreckt sich bis zum horizont, wo eine flache küstenlinie mit dünen zu sehen ist. links das offene mehr; diese küstenlinie geht nach rechts über in die feine linie der dünenhügels. ein ruhiger wasserlauf schlängelt sich nach hinten hoch entlang der kante zum unteren strand, an dem die person zu sehen ist. das wasser ist ruhig mit einer glatten oberfläche, es spiegelt das helle grau des himmels wieder, das nach unten dunkler wird. das bild ist kontrastreich. das direkte licht der sonne sorgt für eine starke betonung der linien und texturen. die stimmung ist melancholisch und einsam, was durch die einsamkeit der person und die weite der landschaft verstärkt wird.

Die Wand ist zum Teil verputzt und an manchen Stellen erkennt man das Sandsteinmauerwerk. In a sandstone wall there is a metal shutter, the lower part of which is closed and the upper half is made with bars. The wall is partly plastered and in some places the sandstone masonry can be recognised.
