Close-up view of an alpine forget-me-not (Myosotis asiatica), Alaska’s state flower, with clusters of small, vivid blue flowers each with a yellow center surrounded by a pinkish ring. The flowers are growing on a slender green stem with small, textured green leaves. The background is softly blurred, showing dry grass and tundra vegetation in the White Mountain National Recreation Area, photographed in late June.

Bees move so fast I have to take dozens of pics just to get one clear shot. I managed to take one mid-flight that reminds me of that cat meme.

What do you think?

A carpenter bee is hovering near budding pink and green flowers on a bush. The plant appears to be in early bloom, with small clusters of blossoms and new leaves visible.
A fluffy, light-colored cat appears to be floating or flying in mid-air, with a serious expression, against a blurred background of greenery.

Home #garden report is in! And it’s doing fabulously…
Crown Prince squash is just through; sunflowers are coming on; cosmos (with random morning glories) is at 3 inches in a 10 days.

And in the garden tulips and daffs have arrived. Anemones are going gangbusters, and the perennial Echium shrub - was on its last warning - is finally flowering. It’s spectacular when it goes but ours never has before.

Home on Friday… cannot wait!

Every year I replant our tulips bulbs in the pots left dormant between Summer vegetable and dahlia planting and spring bulbs.
I love the bright colors that welcome me home as I come down the driveway.

It's actually the shade of a tree, but it looks like these daisies are definitely up to no good 😄

A cluster of white daisies in green grass. The shadow of a bare tree falls over them in such a way that it seems like shadowy lines are creeping out of the flower cluster.

Repeat, spring has arrived in Scotland.

Our tulips are finally opening. All they needed was a sunny day.
I hope the forecast stormy weather doesn't beat them up too badly.

I went for a walk with my dear friend and favorite artist Matt Beard this morning.
He really is a lovely human.
I took a few photos along the trail.
I also brought him a whole box of fresh scones that were still warm. I think he was happy I baked.
Today was an exceptional weather day here on the north coast.
Perfect for walking and perfect for protesting.
I did enough of both that I am an exhausted grandma.

Can't do everything on macro, so these are telephoto, and isn't it lovely to have some early season light, colour, and form in the world again? #bloomscrolling

Happy to see this little ray of sunshine looking up at me today. A great plant for pollinators in early spring. #BloomScrolling #Gardening #Biodiversity #Pollinators
A common dandelion flower a circle of gold in the grass. One of the most important early spring food sources for pollinators and edible and nutritious for us too. Dandelions are one of nature’s most benevolent species and I love to see them back in flower again.

Friends came over for lunch on Saturday and brought these #Bloomscrolling

A photo of a clump of yellow narcissi, the trumpet a deeper egg yolk colour than the surrounding tepals. Many more still in bud. A patch of lawn and mature shrubs and trees behind, out of focus. There is a glimpse of blue sky with white fluffy clouds through the bare branches.
