In the beginning that will be very expensive to run, then at some point a lot of the code we have in our apps will be built by AI engineers instead of people engineers. In my opinion that will augment the people working on it. My view is that in the future people will be so much more creative and freed up to do crazy things.”

I state again: to most capitalists pouring money into #AI, THE CORE VALUE PROPOSITION FOR AI IS DISPLACEMENT OF HUMAN LABOR. What capitalists want are slaves that replace workers.

Robots have replaced a lot of *repetitive* human work, and capitalists have hoarded all the profits from their increased productivity. Now they want AI to replace *intelligent* human work, and capitalists want to hoard those profits too.

Since we all have to listen to the constant bitching about AI and the enshittificaton of search engines, I don't want to see one more person being castigated for asking a question on social media that could have been answered with a cursory search.

That was shitty, asshole behavior to begin with and now it can't even be justified by being technically correct.

"One of the reasons that datacenter operators have gravitated toward evaporative coolers is because they're so cheap to operate compared to alternative technologies.

"It is always of a higher coefficient of performance (COP), meaning less energy required, to evaporate water, regardless of what cooling medium is being utilized," Shelnutt said.

In fact, COP, which refers to the amount of heat removed for a given amount of power, for evaporative cooling comes in at 1,230 while dry coolers and chillers manage a COP of about 12 and 4, respectively, he explained.

In terms of energy consumption, this makes an evaporatively cooled datacenter far more energy efficient than one that doesn't consume water, and that translates to a lower operating cost.

The challenge is that not every location and climate is well suited to evaporative cooling. In hotter climates where water is either scarce or places with high humidity where evaporative coolers are ineffective, chillers, which function similar to your AC unit, may be used instead."

He's going on about how he's not going to even try to moderate for truth any more and is going to move to Texas to be more like Twitter. 🤮

They have to stop trying to remove disinformation because all the AI spambots they intend to flood their network with have no concept of truth of meaning at all 😆

The bots will pretend to be black, or that they're donating to charities, or have a family life, or whatever.
