Hey everyone! By way of an introductory post ... I'm Richard, and for the past 30 years, I've been into #hiking and #mountaineering, not just here in Spain but also in places like the Alps, #Patagonia, and Kamchatka. Although I'm now retired, my business, Spanish Highs, is still going strong. On this account, I'll be sharing some of my favorite photos and memories from those adventures, along with some of the current hikes I still love to do.

Kicking things off, here’s an iconic shot from the Southern Patagonian Icecap back in 2014. We were following in the footsteps of my childhood heroes, Walter Bonatti who, with Carlo Mauri, first explored the stunning western side of the Cerro Torre massif way back in January 1958.

I just went through my #photos from yesterday and - unfortunately - none of them REALLY worked out the way I wanted. I somehow knew it already on location because it's a difficult season:

The snow melting and leaving a lot of brown patches, a clear blue sky with lots of sun, which is nice for me to see - but not for a cool photo. - BUT it was a good hike, that's what I have to keep repeating to myself

Also: Routen bewerten, eintragen, kommentieren, kopieren wären tolle Funktionen.
Mit Organic Maps konnte ich zumindest "Tracks aufzeichen", was ich schon sehr cool fand'.

Just three snaps from my hike today. I didn't want to try anything new to be honest. So I just went for this summit. The views were great, especially with the fog down there.

It hasn't snowed for a while, that's why there are a LOT of brown patches of grass around. Not really great for nice #photos to be honest. But it nice to get out and have some exercise.

Oh and I was SUPER happy about my spikes. Some parts were just ice.

Sounded too high to me. But I see where you got that number from: "About one-third of hikers spent between $5,000-$8,000 on their hike. However, the most common amount spent was $10,000, and a whopping 24 people spent $15,000 or more! This brought the average and median up to $7,212 and $8,000, respectively."

So, depending on which definition of "average" you're using....

Pack and Raft.

A rather simple trip that involved 7km walking with boat shoes on tarmac. I really expected soft forrest trails here but I had to work with whats there :D After a lunch break with some cold nutritious powder in filtered water I made the jump to inflate the boat and transition into the river to head back to the start through some wilder sections with a little white water.
