Missed the better shot with both birds...

Male and female red-shouldered #hawks together on a wire. Male flew off before I could get the shot.

What you would have seen is that the female is discernibly larger than the male (as is typical for birds of prey). This is the female a bit puffed up because it was a cold morning.

They make a nice couple based on their calls to each other throughout the day! 🙂

Extreme closeup of a green moss (possibly a joint-toothed moss) along with it's stalk-like reproductive organs. The moss leaves, called a gametophytes, are bushy with over-lapping leaves. Throughout the photo there are sporophytes, one in sharp focus near center top frame. In this species, the sporophytes consist of long stalks that curve at the top with a spore-containing capsule dangling down from each.

This spot... is not easy to photograph. During low tide, it is just rocks. When the water is coming... you can get smashed by a wave OR you could get cut off from the shore. Gotta be always alert.
