Slender sun orchids (Thelymitra pauciflora), Gipsy Point, VIC. With this variable orchid there is always a good chance that larger populations include plants that are either a) hybrids or b) similar species that are hard to tell apart from T. pauciflora ;)

Did you know that New Zealand and other land masses in the south-west Pacific are home to LEAF-VEINED SLUGS?

Unlike their omnivorous European relatives, these slugs eat only fungi. They breathe mainly through the skin of the back, which is kept moist by secretions passing along the many grooves.

I think they're utterly amazing, and apparently so do mesostigmatid mites (look at that mite party by the green slug)!

The Chikanishing River, Killarney Provincial Park Ontario Canada presented a beautiful fall scene with the colorful foliage, stunning reflections, and white water as it flowed over the river rocks. It was a great place to just sit, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

There's a spot in the #GobiDesert where sunset briefly casts light on the face of these cliffs. On the day of my visit it was cloudy and it appeared that I was out of luck. But as there was a fleeting moment where the sun broke through. I have tweeked the brightness-contrast to make the shot more attractive to me.

The beautiful & rare, open grown ‘Summergill Brook Ash’, that probably was a part of an ancient Ash Silvopasture, sitting near the Wales - England boarder, 300 - 400 years old, without ash dieback! It would of witness ‘The Wars of the Three Kingdoms, the British Civil Wars’. It stands strong, with a slightly more decayed Ancient Ash neighbour downstream, holding the oxbow together. 6.96m in girth an Ancient Tree. Black and white image.
