Meanwhile in Paris, it looks like the Louvre is not a great place to visit.

Its always been crowded, and certainly on my last visit there were rooms I avoided (not least the Mona Lisa room), but it will take quite a big rethink of the exhibition space to resolve these problems.

Of course, this is very much a 'first world problem' but good access to cultural artefacts (including but not limited to those on show in Paris) remains important, I think.
